Storeplan supplies Safe Working Load signage for all pallet racking projects that we install on your site.
But don’t worry, if you need SWL signs following a WHS inspection or audit for pallet racking Storeplan has not installed, we can help you.
In order for us to provide you with Safe Working load signage, we will need to carry out a physical audit or inspection of your racking. This is so we can ensure compliance with AS4084-2012 and identify the load ratings for your racking, which will be displayed on your new SWL signage.
We are unable to provide SWL signage unless this inspection has been completed by a one of our trained inspectors.
Call us today on 1300 551 281 to arrange an inspection & Safe Working load signage.
What the Australian Standards say about Safe Working Load Signs
Did you know the Australian Standard for Steel Racking (AS4084-2012) state that inspections should be carried out on a regular basis, and at least once every 12 months?
AS4084-2012 applies to adjustable static pallet racking made of cold-formed or hot rolled steel structural members. It covers racking installed within a building, outside a building, and racking that forms part of the frame of the building.
The Standard does not cover drive-in and drive-through racking, cantilever racking, mobile racking or racking made of materials other than steel. If you are concerned about the safety of your drive-in or cantilever racking please contact us, as there are other Standards that apply to these systems.
From Australian Standard AS4084-2012:
8.2 INSPECTIONS
Inspections shall be carried out on a regular basis, and at least once every twelve months to—
- ensure the correct application and use of equipment;
- ensure that the working load limits are adhered to;
- ensure that the racking installation has not been altered. A copy of the load application and configuration drawings shall be retained for this purpose;
- examine the extent of damage due to impact in the racking installation;
- examine the out-of-plumb of the racking;
- examine for any dislocation and deformation of sections and connections for uprights and beams;
- examine connectors for deformation or signs of cracking of the welds; and
- examine base plates and floor anchors.
