Cable reel pallet racking is a specialised storage solution designed to efficiently handle and organise large spools or reels of cable and wire. This type of racking system features robust, adjustable beams that can support the significant weight and varying sizes of cable reels, ensuring they remain secure and easily accessible. By elevating the reels off the ground, it maximises floor space and enhances safety by preventing reels from rolling or becoming damaged.
The design often includes integrated spool supports or axles, allowing the reels to rotate smoothly for easy dispensing of cable without the need to remove the reels from the rack. Cable reel pallet racking is particularly beneficial in industries such as electrical, telecommunications, and manufacturing, where quick and organised access to large quantities of cable is essential for maintaining efficient operations and workflow.

Cable Reel Racking for Storage and Dispensing
Storeplan manufactures its cable racking system in house. It is normally integrated into our I600 industrial pallet racking system and can be customised to suit other racking brands. Contact us to confirm compatibility with your existing installation.
The system is designed for storing and dispensing cables, chains, ropes and other products on drums or reels. The customised assembly consists of a spindle (normally HD Gal pipe 50NB) and a left and right welded steel bracket set. The brackets are bolted into the upright posts.
Planning Your Cable Racking Layout
When requesting a quote, include the diameter, overall width and loaded weight of each drum, the number of reels to store, your available floor space and how you intend to load and dispense them. For an existing rack, provide its brand and configuration.
Ask Storeplan to confirm the spindle and bracket arrangement, clearances and load ratings for the proposed installation. The spindle size alone should not be used to determine a safe working load.
Cable Reel Storage at GCM Lighting & Electrical
Storeplan's GCM fit-out included cable reel racking alongside conduit racking, pallet racking and shelving. Explore the GCM Lighting & Electrical storage project to see how these systems formed part of the wider fit-out.
