Overview
Haymans Electrical, part of the MMEM Group, recently upgraded its Emerald, QLD branch with a complete warehouse and showroom storage solution. To support their growth and ensure the new facility met both operational and customer-facing needs, they partnered with Storeplan to design, supply, and install a system tailored to their workflows.
Across a new 1,200-square-metre premise, the project combined functional racking for heavy stock, cable reel storage, and conduit solutions with a modern retail showroom fit-out, ensuring Haymans Emerald could deliver outstanding service to customers while maintaining a safe, productive workspace.

The Challenge
Haymans Emerald faced a dual challenge:
- Operational Efficiency Their growing stock lines and cable management required a warehouse setup that was safe, accessible, and maximised the space. Traditional racking was no longer enough for the mix of palletised goods, cable reels, and long items like conduit.
- Customer Experience The showroom needed to be more than storage space; it had to display products professionally to drive sales and reflect the Haymans brand. A flexible and visually appealing retail fit-out was essential.
This balance between robust warehouse racking and a polished retail display required expertise from Storeplan’s team across both environments.
The Solution
Showroom Fit Out
- Pegboard Gondola Shelving 8 runs of 4 adjoining double-sided bays with end displays to present stock clearly and accessibly.
- Slatwall Panels Black finish with aluminium extrusions, providing a flexible display for electrical components and accessories.
Warehouse Racking
- Selective Pallet Racking for optimising space Multiple runs of Schaefer Selective Racking configured with MDF shelves and mesh decks for both palletised goods and smaller stock items.
- Cable Reel Racking Custom-built bays accommodating reels with 3–4 sets per bay, ensuring safe handling of heavy electrical cable drums.
- Conduit & Cantilever Racking Dedicated runs for conduits, property poles, and strut materials, with adjustable arms to adapt as stock needs change.
Added Functionality
- Workbenches Heavy-duty mobile benches for onsite assembly and safe working space.
- Pallet Cages Supplied for secure storage of smaller, loose items.
Outdoor Solutions
To optimise outdoor storage, Storeplan reconfigured existing Light Duty Galvanised Cantilever into a more efficient run. The original nine separate bays were dismantled and consolidated into a single run of 12 adjoining bays (2400H x 1500W x 900D) with three adjustable arms per column.
This upcycled upgrade provides a safer, streamlined area for storing long and bulky materials such as poles and strut, while freeing up valuable indoor warehouse space.
